Petrified Wood Bookends

Gorgeous Petrified Wood Stone Bookends or Display Specimen

This is a beautiful pair of Petrified Wood bookends, or matching sides for a wonderful display specimen. They aren't very tall - 5 1/2" at their tallest x 4 1/8" wide and 1 7/8" thick, and weight is about 3 lbs each, 6.2 lbs total (2.77 kgs). So they aren't light. If using them as bookends, they would probably hold medium books fine. There is no felt or padding on the bottom, just the sliced unpolished rock. They are rough and unpolished on the inside edge, bottom, and the back. But even unpolished, they are amazing to look at! The widest sliced face of both sides has a really nice polish on it. The areas with the rough, uncut surface is very textured rough rock, but yet has a smooth, kind of waxie feel to it. The right side has two small indented areas along the bottom edge (visible in the last two photos), essentially chips, but they look like the rock was that way before being polished, not like it was chipped as a finished piece. These are just gorgeous whether as display, or for a more purposeful use as bookends!(This piece is also offered through our eBay store.)

Geode Bookends

Wiley Wells Geode Bookends or Display Specimen

This is both sides of a Geode collected from Wiley's Well area near Blythe, California and Quartzite, Arizona. The area is detailed in the popular rock-hounding books, "Gem Trails in California" by A.L. Abbott and "Desert Gem Trails" by Mary Frances Strong. There is a polish on the one side you see, bottom and inside are not polished, and the outside is the natural stone. While they would make nice bookends for small to medium sized books, they are awesome display specimens. Each side is approximately 3 1/2" x 2" x 4 3/4" high, together weighing 3 lbs 7 oz, or 1.55 kilograms.

Fossil Wood Bookends

Polished Fossil Wood Stone Bookends

We are fairly certain these bookends are Petrified Wood, or Fossil wood. But a set with a mystery ... we can see the wood graining on the polished side and on the bottom. However, the top edges and backs are a solid black. The only thing we can think of is that the person that polished them possibly painted the edges and back black. Whatever the reason, they're just beautiful! They are sized for small to medium books, standing 5" tall x 4 3/8" and 1 5/8". They weigh 2280 grams, or 5 lbs. The edges have no felt on them, but one inside edge has a little residue that looks like it might have had felt or something at one time. The pictures in the slide show just don't do them justice - they really are a gorgeous pair, whether as bookends, or just display.

Jasper Agate Stone Bookends

Polished Jasper Agate Stone Bookends, Nice, Solid

This is a set of polished Jasper-Agate bookends. Easily will support up to medium sized books, though heavy enough for many larger books as well. Two sides are cut and polished and the rounded back side is the natural, uncut rock. The wider side is about 3 1/4" and the narrow side is about 2 5/8". They stand just over 5". Deep Autumn Jasper Bookends

Deep-Autumn Colored Jasper Stone Bookends

This is a set of polished Jasper bookends, with a little agate blending in. They are heavy enough that they should be able to support up to large sized books. They are sliced on three sides, though polished only on the face, and the back side is the natural, uncut rock. Each side is approximately 5 1/2" x 2" x 6 7/8" high. Together they weigh 9 lbs 15 ounces, or 4.5 kilograms. Please note that the coloring is closest to the main photo, though a little darker and richer in color. Rose Jasper Bookends

Polished Rose-Colored Jasper Stone Bookends

This is a set Jasper bookends, suitable for supporting up to large sized books. Two sides are cut and polished and the rest is the natural, uncut rock. The rock tapers from about 4" on one end to about 5" on the other and it was then cut in the middle. You can position them as bookends a couple different ways, either way, making a neat conversation piece, as well as gorgeous bookends! Together, they are between 8" and 9" across, 5" at the highest point and between 4" and 5" wide. They weigh about 11 lbs 1 ounce, or 5.03 kilograms. Polished Jasper Agate Stone Bookends, Possibly Petrified Palm Root

This is a set of polished Stone bookends. We are not sure what kind of rock this was cut from other than Jasper-Agate. It looks kind of like Petrified Palm Root, but we are not sure. They are only cut on the face and down the center, the outside of the bookends is the rock itself. They stand about 5 1/4" and 4" wide. They are roughly 2" deep and weigh 5.4 pounds together. Pyramid Stone Bookends

Polished Pyramid Shaped Jasper-Agate Bookends

This is a set of polished stone, Jasper-Agate bookends. All four sides are cut and polished and the very top is the uncut rock. Felt lines the bottom. There is a very small crystal-filled cavity on one side! The base of each one of the triangular-cut sides is just over 4.25 inches, or about 8.75 inches together. The depth is just over 3 inches wide. They stand about 6 inches high in the center. Together they weigh about 11 pounds, 6 ounces. (Additional shipping cost for international purchases.
