Crawfordite Agate Slab

'Crawfordite' Slab from Ludlow area, Mojave Desert - Chapenite?

This is a really unusual slab, and we believe a rare one, from the Mojave Desert of California. Our guess would have been an amazing piece of Chapenite. But it has 'Crawfordite, Ludlow, Calif' written on one side. We're not sure this actually is what it says it is, but at the very least, it is a gorgeous stone, and what looks like a brecciated jasp-agate. It is about 3 1/4" x 2" and 4 mm thick. It weighs 1.5 oz, or 43 grams. Looks like a fracture line near the center, and a little bit of some kind of residue on one side. A really unique piece!

Rainbow Ridge Jasp-Agate

Rainbow Ridge Jasp-Agate Slab with Dendrites

This is another slab of Jasper-Agate from Rainbow Ledge. It is roughly 3 1/2" x 2 1/2" and 6-7 mm thick. It weighs 2.6 oz, or 75 grams. The slab seems pretty solid, but there are a number of tiny feather lines, we assume fractures (as visible in the photos), that need to be taken into account for whatever might be planned for this piece.

Rainbow Ridge Agate Slab

Colorful Rainbow Ridge Jasp-Agate Slab

This is a slab of Jasper-Agate from Rainbow Ledge from the Randsburg/Inyokern area of the El Paso Mountains (Mojave Desert of California). The material is often referred to as Rainbow Ridge Jasp-Agate. My understanding is the rock club that has the claim on this material says it is actually Rainbow Ledge, but it is even written Rainbow Ridge in some of the gem trail books. Either way, some awesome material has come from this area. To me, this piece is one of those. It is about 4 1/2" x 2 1/2" and just under 5 mm thick. It weighs 2.4 oz, or 69 grams. There are a few possible fracture lines, and a couple small pockets (including one filled with druse) as well.
