Dryhead Agate Collectors Cabochon with Face

This is a free-form cabochon cut from a piece of Dryhead Agate. While it is a pretty and unique cabochon with a beautiful fortification pattern in it, notice the face! The artist on this piece, S.A. Wittick, called it an angry man, but to me, it is totally the face of a Cookie Monster! :) Whatever you see in it, it is great collectors piece (and the photo will definitely wind up in our gallery of awesome rocks!) It is just shy of 23 mm at its widest x 44 mm long from the top tip to the opposite side and just under 6 mm thick. It weighs 37.6 carats. The smile of the face is actually two small open crystalline pockets. There is another crystalline area toward the top, but it is filled with agate, and light is visible through that one. The back has a nice polish as well. This is an awesome collectors cabochon, whatever you see the pattern!

Dryhead Agate Cabochon with Druse Crystals

This is a beautiful freeform Dryhead Agate cabochon. There is an open druse pocket exposed along one edge, and another just peeking out on the other side. It is 43 x 36 mm at its widest points, and 6-7 mm thick. It weighs 65 carats. The back is lightly finished as well. Artist on this beauty is S.A. Wittick.

TeePee Canyon Cabochon

TeePee Canyon Agate Cabochon with Bubbled Edge

This is a cabochon cut from TeePee Canyon Agate from South Dakota. Close inspection revels numerous fortification lines that TeePee Canyon is known for, and several little agate-filled pockets, including one where you see the bubbled edge below the surface! The darkish area on the one end looks in the photos like possibly a cavity but it's not - it's totally smooth in that area. It is 62 x 36 mm at its wider points, and the face gently rolls from 4 mm up to about 7. It weighs 100 carats. It's closer in color to the first few photos, not quite as reddish as it appears in the last.
