Moctezuma Agate

Honey Moctezuma Agate Nodule

This is a beautiful Moctezuma Agate from Mexico. It is a pretty piece when just viewing it naturally, but if you take a closer look (with magnification for me), the details are just gorgeous - finely detailed lines, and a small druse-filled pocket. It is 2 1/8" x 1" at its wider points, and as thick as 15 mm. It weighs 27.6 grams, or 9/10 of an ounce. If interested in the pair, please email us as the other side may still be available as well.

Mexican Agate

Colorful Mexican Agate Nodule

This is a polished Mexican Agate. We aren't sure where this piece came from other than we know it was collected in Mexico. Beautiful colors! It is 2" x 1 5/8" at its wider points, and tapers from a thin edge, up to 26 mm, so it sits nicely at an angle. Please note that one area on the edge of the face is apparently where the stone was broken into when it was dug out of the ground. Coyamito Agate

Tiny Coyamito Agate Pseudomorph

This is a polished Coyamito Agate Pseudomorph. It is just a small piece - about 1 1/2" x 1 1/8" and 18 mm thick. But it is a nice little pseudomorph example. The colors are soft, and not very bright, but it is especially neat when viewed close-up (i.e., with magnification for me). The details are wonderful in the tiny banding area.

Coyamito Agate

Coyamito Agate Nodule

This is a polished Coyamito Agate nodule. At first glance, in natural lighting, you notice the purple center surrounded by red agate - a pretty little Coyamito. However, upon close inspection, the beautiful banding, with the delicately detailed lines, expecially in the tip, becomes visible. It is 2" x 1 1/2" and just over 21 mm thick. It has two open pockets as visible in the photos.

Mexican Agate

Pretty Mexican Agate Nodule - Maybe Agua Nueva?

This is a polished Mexican Agate, essentially a double. We aren't sure where this piece came from other than we know it was collected in Mexico. It has some similarities to some Agua Nueva we've seen, though we aren't sure that's what this is. There is an open pocket on the one side, with a small area of pink fortification, while the other side has more amazing variety in it. It is 2 3/4" x 2 1/8" at its wider points, and 16-28 mm thick.

Parcelas Agate

Parcelas Agate Nodule - Amazing Details!

This is an end piece of a Parcelas Agate Nodule from Chihuahua, Mexico, nicely polished on the face. Parcelas nodules are collected not far from Lagunas. Parcelas Agates may not have the bright colors of the Lagunas, but they easily have the awesome fortification, and this one has just amazing details! It has layers that look like they have been set in place, one after the other, and it's like you can see down in between them. You look closely at the 'snow' and it is just beautiful. Below the surface you can see little bubbles of the rock underneath the agate. It's really a gorgeous little agate, full of details you could almost get lost in! It's about 2 7/8" x 2 1/8" and apx 3-19 mm thick. It weighs 77 grams, or 2.7 ounces. A fantastic piece for any collection!

Moctezuma Agate

Peach with Translucent Blue Moctezuma Nodule (Laguna?)

We have this piece noted as a Moctezuma Agate nodule, but it might be a Laguna, we aren't sure. Either way - a really pretty piece! It is about 2 1/2" x 1 1/8" and goes back to a point, about 1 1/2" thick. It weighs roughly 51 grams, or 1.8 ounces.

Parcelas Agate

Domed Parcelas Agate Nodule - It's Snowing!

This is a Parcelas Agate nodule, domed on the top, the rough nodule on the back. These agates come from near where Laguna Agates are collected, and are often filled with little 'snowy' flakes! It measures roughly 1 3/4" x 1 1/2" and tapers from the sides to center up to 13 mm. It weighs 25 grams, or 9/10 of an ounce. Please note that the coloring is whiter than it appears in the further away shots. A very neat specimen to add to any collection.

Moctezuma Agate

Polished Moctezuma Agate Nodule - ButterCream!

This is a Moctezuma Agate from Mexico - soft, creamy look to it and crystalline structure in the center. It is domed on the surface, the rough nodule on the back. It is approximately 2 1/8" x 1 3/4" and is approximately 9-16 mm thick. It weighs 42 grams, or 1 1/2 ounces. A nice piece to add to any collection!

Laguna Lace Agate

Laguna Lace Agate Specimen with Botryoidal Druse

This is a large piece of Laguna Lace Agate. It is polished flat up to the edge of the rough rock on the one side. The rest of the rock is the natural, unpolished specimen, including a most impressive display of a druse-covered, botryoidal-shaped, crystal cavity! The specimen is 9 1/2" long x 3 3/4 to 5" wide, and 1 1/2 to 3" thick. It weighs 5 lbs, 3.5 ounces (2.37 kg). The pocket you see on the polished side (main photo) leads to that crystal cavity on the other side. An amazing display of Mother Nature's work in this one unique piece!

Moctezuma Agate Nodule

Peaches and Cream Moctezuma Agate Nodule

This is both sides of a beautiful little Moctezuma Agate nodule. These agates come from Chihuahua, Mexico, near where the awesome Laguna Agates are located. They are becoming increasing more difficult to find. This pair is roughly 1.25 inches both ways, and 37 grams in weight, or about 1.2 ounces (together).
