Pink and Black Rhodonite Slab with Quartz

This is a really nice slab of Rhodonite. We are pretty sure it's from near Randsburg Ghost Town in the Mojave Desert of Southern California. It is 6" x 2 3/4 to 3 3/4" and 6 mm thick. It weighs 225 grams, or 8 ounces.

Rhodonite Slab

Rhodonite Slab with Green, from Randsburg

This is a slab of Rhodonite, from near Randsburg. It has green in it instead of the usual black. While this could be Lapis Nevada, we know that there is Rhodonite from Randsburg that does have green in it. So that's what we believe this is. It is 2 7/8" x 2" at its wider points, and mostly 4-5 mm thick. It weighs 40 grams, or 1.5 ounces. Note that on the second side there is a very slight indentation (from a saw?). It was photographed wet.

Pink and Black Rhodonite Slab

This is a slab of Rhodonite, most likely from near Randsburg. It is 3 1/2" x 2 1/4 to 3 1/2" and 9-12 mm thick. It weighs 240 grams, or 8.5 ounces.

Rhodonite Rough

10 lbs Black with Pink Rhodonite Rough ($4/lb)

This is 10 lbs of rough Rhodonite. We're not sure what location it's from, but we have similar material from several different collections so we think it mostly came from either the Randsburg area or Wrightwood, or slight possibility some may have come from Limekiln Creek (all California). Pieces that we would put in your box range on the average from about 2" up to 5" along one side. A few have been sliced or had an end knocked off so you can get an idea of what it looks like inside, but most are just the rough, uncut pieces, as dug out of the ground - most very black on the outside, some with a little color showing. Price for 10 lbs includes the extra cost for the medium flat rate box.

Rhodonite Slab

Large Rhodonite Slab, Lots of Pink

This is a larger slab of Rhodonite, lots of pink in it, less black. We aren't sure where this piece came from, possibly Lime Kiln Creek along the California coast(?). It was photographed outside, on the ground in natural light in the main shot. The color is closest to this photo. The other photos, as seen in the slide show, were taken inside, on black background under fluorescent lighting. The black looks greenish on those, but it is actually black. It also has kind of a dirty film on it. That might be in the material, or possibly oil residue, though it does not feel like oil. So it may or may not go away when polished. It is 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" and 10 mm thick. It weighs 580 grams, or 1 pound, 4 ounces.
